Leon Ayres, of
Selbyville, was referred to KSI in 2001 by the Division of
Developmental Disabilities Services. His award-winning smile
reflects the genuine kindness Leon feels for his co-workers and
supervisors. Leon, though somewhat quiet, is always pleasant and
considerate of others. Leon's signature gift is the handmade
cards with heart-shaped flowers that he makes and gives to his
friends.
Leon
likes to work and is a hard worker. He is seen in this picture
filling a tray with shrink-wrapped peppers for B&G Foods out of
Hurlock, Maryland. Always punctual, this is just one of the
many jobs Leon's supervisors can depend on him to do in our
Facility-Based Work Services Program. Leon prefers working in
the facility where there is a variety of work, rather than in the
community where he would work on one particular job.
Family is extremely
important to Leon. He likes to help his mother with household
expenses; something he is able to do with the paycheck he earns at
KSI. Leon talks lovingly about his family, in particular his
nieces and nephews whom he absolutely adores. He also likes
cutting grass, bowling, and traveling. |
