Julia Secrest, of
Magnolia, was referred to KSI in September of 2000 by the Division
of Developmental Disabilities Services. Kind and caring, Julia loves
to wear brightly colored clothes and always dresses up for special
occasions and holidays.
Making her own money
is important to Julia. She is a shopper and loves to buy jewelry,
especially rings and necklaces. Julia is a versatile worker. Her
supervisors have gotten to know Julia over the years and have
developed environmental supports that help her meet with success.
Julia is seen here
inspecting poultry seasoning injectors for Perdue Farms of Milford.
This is one of her favorite jobs. She also likes to do mailouts and
is very proficient at precise placement labeling. Julia prefers
working independently, rather than in a group environment.
She has a close and
loving relationship with her family. Julia is very active in the
Southside Baptist Church where her father, Rev. Ron Secrest, is a
pastor. Julia had her first experience at camp Pecometh in
Centreville, Maryland in the summer of 2007. She was very proud to
have paid her own way with money she saved from her paychecks. |
