Michael McDonald, of
Harrington, was referred to KSI in 1997 by the Division of
Developmental Disabilities Services.
He is a very loyal
friend. When Michael cares about someone, or something, he is
extremely dedicated and loyal. This is particularly evident in his
relationship with his friend, co-worker, and roommate, Tommy.
Working on contracts
through KSI’s facility-based employment program has given Michael
the opportunity to work with many of the friends he’s made at KSI.
In this picture, Michael is part of a production line, assembling
items into a “Rehoboth’opoly” game.
Michael has worked on
a variety of jobs at KSI over the years. Full of excitement to be
working, he doesn’t usually care what job he’s working on, so long
as everything is okay with his friends around him. Michael’s
compassion for others is very strong.
Routine is very
important in Michael’s world. He absolutely loves to ride the KSI
van to and from work. This is one of the most important things to
happen in Michael’s day. He also likes to watch television. The news
and “I Love Lucy” are his favorite shows. |
