Melvin Freeman, of
Seaford, was referred to KSI in 2005 from the Division of
Developmental Disabilities Services.
Melvin is full of
personality. He is employed on a KSI work crew at Procter & Gamble
The Dover Wipes Company (P&G). He has a healthy confidence in
himself and likes the increased independence this job provides.
He is very close and
loyal to his family. He likes to help his mom and sister with house
cleaning and cutting grass. Melvin is proud that his paycheck
enables him to contribute financially if his family needs the help.
He also enjoys buying his own clothes and CD’s. He is particularly
interested in rap music.
Melvin has begun a
birthday tradition with his co-workers at P&G. When it is someone’s
birthday, the crew sings the traditional happy birthday song. Much
to everyone’s delight, Melvin’s fast-paced rap version of happy
birthday follows the traditional song.
A kind, giving
individual, Melvin likes people. He likes movies, bowling, and going
to the Laurel flea market. He is thankful that KSI provides
transportation so he can get from his home in Seaford to his job in
Dover. |
