Stefanie Hammond
Receives Nomination For Direct Support Professionals Award
Stefanie Hammond, of Viola, was recently recognized as a nominee for the
Direct Support Professionals Award at the Second Annual Conference for
Direct Support Professionals.
A
Direct Support Professional is defined as one whose primary job
responsibility is to provide support, training, supervision, and
personal assistance to people with disabilities where at least 50% of
their hours are spent in direct support tasks. Ms. Hammond was one of 68
individuals nominated for this award.
Ms. Hammond is the Employment Coordinator with Kent-Sussex Industries,
Inc. (KSI), a not for profit agency, providing vocational training and
employment services to individuals with disabilities throughout Kent and
Sussex Counties. Ms. Hammond works with individuals in KSI’s Supported
Employment Program, a program which provides the most independent
employment opportunity available.
