KSI Honors Debbie Smith As 2006 Outstanding Staff Employee of the Year

Kent-Sussex Industries, Inc. (KSI) honored Debbie Smith, of Harrington, Outstanding Staff Employee of the Year 2006, with its Clifford T. Crouch Excellence In Service Award during KSI’s 45^th Annual Awards Dinner at the Sheraton Dover Hotel. KSI is a non profit organization providing employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities in Kent and Sussex Counties.

Mrs. Smith, employed with KSI since 1986, has always accepted challenges and looked for ways to better serve and meet the needs of the individuals KSI serves. In August 2006, Mrs. Smith was promoted to Project Manager for a very large project between KSI and Playtex Products in Dover. In presenting this award to Mrs. Smith, Craig Crouch, KSI CEO, said, “Debbie has proven to be an effective planner, coach, supervisor, and a great facilitator of communication between the staff at Playtex and the KSI work crew. This was a huge project which challenged every aspect of our organization, including staff, participants, and transportation. Debbie’s efforts and hard work have created a great opportunity for the people we serve, and will have an impact on KSI for years to come. Debbie, we thank you for stepping up and accepting the challenge at Playtex.”

Mrs. Smith was presented a plaque from KSI, a State of Delaware Senate Tribute, sponsored by Senator Gary Simpson, and a State of Delaware House of Representatives Tribute, sponsored by Representative George Carey.  More than 200 guests attended KSI’s Annual Awards Dinner.
