Tom's Bullpen Fundraiser for KSI Made Friends and Funds
3/13/2018 - KSI believes that fundraisers are about more than funds being raised, they’re about making friends too. Mary Ressler, co-owner of Tom’s Bullpen in Dover offered to host a fundraiser for KSI on a Friday night in February.
This unique, first of its kind offer for KSI, was the first step at making new friends. Mary Ressler is involved in her community and she wanted to make more people aware of KSI and its services for adults with disabilities. She invited Rapid Intake, Bodhi Woof, Surreal Nation and Sporadic Static with Dave Nickolson, four local bands that donated their time, and took time to learn about KSI.
Guests supported KSI via Chinese and silent auctions, a 50/50 drawing, guest bartender tips, and general donations. KSI staff and bar guests mingled, introducing themselves, learning about KSI and about each other while checking out the auction items. Not only did Tom’s Bullpen help KSI make friends, but they also made it possible for $823 to be donated to KSI for the programs and services it provides.
KSI is a not for profit agency, providing vocational training, employment, supported employment, community integration, transportation, day habilitation, and nutritional services to individuals with disabilities throughout Kent and Sussex Counties.  KSI is committed to making all reasonable accommodations in order to ensure that our programs and services are as accessible as possible to as many people as possible.
